<--CLICKY!!

I found this site by doing a Google search for atv info. Very interesting site featuring three cool sub sites.

QuadSearches.com, QuadExperts.com, and QuadFeed.com. Seems like it might be a developing concept for a different kind of ATV site. I have no idea if these folks are really experts or not but the idea of the different sites is certainly on top of current web technology.

Check them out and see if they're worth anything. I know I'll spend some time there just to see what I can find.

Definitely different but will take a few visits to sort things out - there's a lot of info and it's presented in a different format than most websites.

2006 CanAm Outlander 400 4x4 (great machine)

I tried a few searches there and mirrored the same at Google and the results weren't all that spectacular at QuadSearches. More narrow without question but I think they have a way to go before their databases are as complete as other, more established Internet search engines.

Am I missing something? or aren't these just custom google and yahoo searches?

They are probably applying parameters to the Google search API to get the results.

I didn't think of that.  Huh??

This post came up on my "radar".  As the founder of Tetracurve, thanks for noticing the sites.

We are obviously in the early stages but moving quick, and you are exactly right, I'm pulling a team together to create the "next generation" media network.  In fact, we have another site that has been up for a little while - QuadShopping.com that we'll announce this week.   Daily deal alerts, new products, etc all in one place for folks.

Anyway, mainly wanted to address a couple questions you had and welcome any feedback.

1) Are we really experts?   I'm going to be partnering with people with different backgrounds that can help in different ways.  I need to get my bio on the new site, but I grew up racing motocross, got involved with quads several years ago.  My expertise is really in marketing and internet, and I'm making the leap to bring all that to a sport and industry that I believe needs it.  Or at least I'd like to see the level of success other sports have had.  Oh, and going to ATV mechanics school in my spare time!

In terms of media, the magazines do great, but there is so much more happening.  Checkout the article we did today on the electric ATV on QuadExperts.com.

2) What is the value of the search engine?  Agreed that we have much work to do, although we have already spent the longest on this so far as you can see here and here.  The reason we have the "beta" tag is because we haven't gotten our large database of "direct answers" online, were you will get specific data/links and contextual stuff along with the standard search results as well as cleaning up all the SPAM and advertising that is out there.   Making it easier to find stuff while making the industry more efficient is the goal.

thanks again,

Russ,

Welcome to NYRiders! Thanks for stopping in and touching base, I've been enjoying reading your blog. I've also dug into the TetraCurve site a bit to see what else you've been up to and I have to say that I'm impressed.

As you may have gleaned from looking around this site, we're just a bunch of riders that love our quads, bikes, sleds and big wheels (if that's what gets us down the trails). As I already mentioned I'm thrilled to see something new in our world and glad to know there's someone out there that's looking to make a positive impact on the sport we love.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Thanks.  I'll try and stop in from time to time, obviously it is hard to stay up with every community online.  In fact, one thing that is amazing for ATVs are all the online forums - definitely not something we need to add.  But we have our next project coming online after the first of the year related to tracking all the buzz in the community, reporting across all the forums that you can't stay on top of, and otherwise showcasing existing forums - you'll have to keep an eye out for it.  I'm more excited about it than anything yet.

and regarding "a bunch of riders that love our quads, bikes, sleds and big wheels" - that is the foundation right there, makes what I want to do possible and for all current and future riders as well.
