What is everyones thoughts of this place?
I gotta tell you I have had no good experiences here and yesterday was the last time I will step foot on their property unless someone else can talk me into it otherwise...
I will post my experience about buying a Triton trailer there later this evening ...

Went there to shop last year and was not impressed with their sales staff AT ALL when we left I told Lynn we would not be buying there.
The reason I went there was they were the only Polaris dealer in the area that had a shock in stock for Lynns 600 Classic (The Nitrex?  front shocks are non-rebulidable but have damping adjustment) at 150.00 each list I was surprised anyone would stock them. A buddy of mine buys from them all the time that is why we gave them a try at his suggestion.

Maybe their parts department is run better than sales?

Here is my recent experience with Preferred…
In the last 2 weeks I have put together the funds and did my research on my trailer purchase, I decided on a Triton AUT series utility trailer.
On Easter Sunday Missie and I took a nice afternoon drive and stop by and look at the trailers at Ingles and Preferred.
Both dealers had the trailer in stock that I wanted.
The one at Preferred was on the side of their building in a wet and muddy area, I still had my dress cloths and dress shoes on from brunch with the family, so I opted not to get muddy and look at it real close up, this would later bite me in the ass…
The one at Ingles was on display in their parking lot easy to see although covered in snow.
So Monday am I call both places to get the best price I can, I get a quote within $100.00 from each dealer, so I opt to get it at Preferred.
On Monday I talk to Gary there and he is pretty decent to deal with and I let him know I am leaving town Tuesday am and will be back Friday and if there is time I would get there Friday afternoon to get it.
Well there wasn’t enough time Friday so I opt to get it on Saturday am, I talk to him he assures me we are all set, my new un-used 2007 model would be inspected and the paperwork would be ready.
We go to the bank Saturday am and get the cash out and head to Preferred, in the parking lot is the trailer, looking ready to go, so we do a once over last inspection before walking in the door to pay for it.
To my surprise the aluminum is all starting to anodize (this is due to towing it in the winter salty roads, not a biggie really but certainly the trailer was used at least once) and the part that pissed me off the most was that it had snowmobile ski carbide gouges on the rear gate and on the bed of the trailer (bed / floor is made of aluminum and so is the rear gate) I am not talking scratches, these are gouges !! deep and very noticeable from 10 ft away.
All the chrome lug nuts are rusted and it looked like they used the wrong size socket on them, they were rounded a bit…
Not being too happy I go inside, ask for Gary…. Garry isn’t there…. Greg says he has everything ready for me and I am all set and he will take care of me.
I bring up the fact that the trailer has been used, and worse of all has damage.
He proceeds to agree (didnt even go look at it, he knew it for sure before hand) that yes it has damage and he thinks a sled was on it and that they fired the guy who did it….
I ask him if a new rear gate can be installed, he says no, you are buying it as is, I ask him for a better price on the slightly used / damaged trailer, he says no again, it comes as it is….
Well the nice calm guy that I am I clearly (and nicely) state I would not be buying this trailer, he then tells me that’s the way it is and sorry.
I say ok…..
I then say Ingles has the same trailer in stock and not damaged… and that I would go buy it from Ingles instead.
He makes no effort to save a sale, he makes no effort at all to even acknowledge that they misled me on the trailer.
He simply gives a take it or leave it attitude with me…
Now I am in a similar industry and have been in retail floor type sales many years also…
This is not how you handle something like this..
Anyways…
I proceeded to drive 30 minutes (long back way scenic way) to Ingles, plenty of time for Preferred to call me to save the deal.
No call…
I bought it from Ingles and there is no looking back.
Now…
I have bought many many parts myself from Preferred, I am the type of guy that comes in with part #’s or calls in and pre-pays for parts they don’t have in stock (which is many, I have never had good luck with their inventory) and I make it very easy on them.
I also send a lot of my repair customers to buy their parts there when I am working on their wheelers, I will never do this again, I will not buy parts from them and I will not recommend anyone else to either.
I have had brush offs by the sales staff there before and also mis information on stuff I ask about when I was in there buying parts.
I am done with these guys for good.
.
.
.
.
Now….
Is this my fault for not looking at the trailer closer the Sunday before? Was I wrong to assume when I was buying a new trailer that it would be new and unused???

Sales staff is terrible for sure...
Parts staff is ok personality wise, their parts stock is sub par in my opinion when comparing to other dealers.
I know people that do business there, its a 50/50 type of thing in regards to how happy they are.
I have a 2005 Sportsman 700 in my garage for a friend of the family, he bought it there (at the time at the old location) along with a new Yamaha street bike last year and many many accessories and parts, he said he is also done with them, he says his last stop their was terrible.
It must be a hit and miss situation on who you deal with and when your there I guess.
Honestly I liked the place better when it was Action... oh well...

I know what you are talking about with preferred power sports its hard to believe that place is still in business,
I guy I work with went in with cash in hand to buy a grizzly 125 for his son and the sales man told him that Yamaha didn't make a grizzly 125 and that they never did make one. So he went to another dealer and bought one.
I bought may son a Kawasaki kfx 50 from thunder alley last summer but they didn't have a green one so they picked one up from preferred power sports for me. The 4 wheeler was so corroded and rusty from preferred leaving the crate out in the weeds in the swamp that I would not accept it and thunder alley got me a new one shipped in. What's up with that. They will never get any of my money as well.  rapidrobert

Knowledgeable sales staff huh???
And you were indirectly affected by them leaving stuff outside to long or all the time...
Very nice...
One time when I was in there about this time last year, I was chatting with a salesman there about the new Grizzly with power steering...
He proceeds to tell me the Honda is better with power steering... now it very well may be... but if you work for me and tell someone that a brand I am not paying you to sell is better than what is on my floor I have a problem... it just doesn't sound good...
