Anyone have any input on this tire?
Radial all purpose type tire.
I am getting ready to buy a set for the Grizz and want to make sure no one has had bad experiences with them.

Came stock on '05 & '06 650V2 Cat LE's in the 26" size. You'll find many complaints by the guys at ArcticChat about them. Soft sidewalls were their chief complaint I believe.

I did read about some sidewall softness reported by guys that have them, the common thing was to raise the pressure a bit and they seemed to be happy after that.

With that said I think I am going to go put my hands on a set and see what they feel like.

What are you paying for a set of them. I will agree that the side walls are a week point of the tire.

I haven't gotten a final price yet, but I will buy them wholesale from a friend of a friend...
You mention they are a weak point... to they puncture easily or have they blown out in the sidewall area?
I am wondering if this is the characteristic of a radial atv tire...

Please explain more... never heard of either of those...

EDIT...
I have heard of Mud Wolfs, Carlisle brand...
After googling them, both are to extreme tread for what I am looking for...
I had ITP 589's on this Grizz when it was new and while it was great for mud, it wasn't so great for dry trails or Tug Hill dirt road riding (higher speeds and such)
I need a good tire for more all purpose type riding.
What are your thoughts?

weak side walls are not a characteristic of radial tires.  just pulled the stock good years off my new cat because I wanted the additional traction and better ride that the radial tire provides.I too needed a general purpose tire so I purchased ITP ducks unlimited wetland tires the are 6 ply radials and are highly rated.
They have at least twice as heavy of a side wall as the Goodyear's that I took off. I got all 4 for $271.00 total to the door. Rapidrobert...

Maxxis Bighorn

Now you do not have to sacrifice a smooth, comfortable ride for tire strength
Radial construction
Aggressive tread pattern and wide footprint for great traction
Sidewalls are protected with wide shoulder lugs
Solid-white raised letters add a nice finishing touch
Tube or tubeless

Who did you buy them from? A Tucker Rocky dealer? I see they are supposed to be exclusive to them...
Made by ITP, so its a good name brand make regardless.
They look similar to the ITP Mudlite XTR

ITP

VS

Ducks Unlimited (also made by ITP)

PJ,

I am running the Goodyear MT/R's on my Prairie and have to say that I find them to be an excellent tire.  They handle well, get great traction in the snow, and are very good for trail riding.  They are definetely not a mudding tire though.

Were they on your Prairie when we did SNIRT last year?
If so....
I took your Prairie through that back trail behind Tuggers and it was some good mud for sure and it handled fine.
You did good with them in the snow and in the hare scramble race also... I would think if they were were weak you would of blown one out in that race for sure... lol..lol...
