That's awesome!  It's nice to see goverment on the side of off-roaders.  It doesn't happen often. There was no reason for the DEC to do what they did, other than targeting ATVers.  Hopefully the lawsuit gains traction and those roads get opened again.

The implications of this are far reaching. If Lewis County is successful it will set a significant precedent.

Maybe Oswego and Oneida Counties and any other county the trails were closed in need to come on board and make this a class action.
It's about time someone stood up to the Treehuggers puppets the DEC. I can see individuals winning against the DEC if this case is won.

Maybe Patterson will be remembered as the man that put the DEC under control.

I guess that's a question that folks need to present to Oswego and Jefferson elected officials to find out why they had chosen not to join forces with Lewis County. Together I believe they could win this.

I'm surprised Jefferson County hasn't gotten involved. I know the folks over at Winona are steaming mad about the whole deal. They had quite a system in the works when the DEC stepped in a shut the truck trails down. I understand they are seeing more damage than the ATV's could ever do from legal off road vehicles like jeeps and beefed up mud bogging trucks. It sure would give them more clout if they attacked this together as a whole instead of just one county going at it.
