The wife and I are (I think) in the market for a nice, used 2-up. I'll look at anything at this point but I'd rather stay away from Polaris (personal preference) and it should be 600cc 2-smoke or bigger I think.

Thoughts?

Places to look (besides the paper, swap sheet, Craigslist or WantAdDigest)?

Know someone thinking of dumping their garage queen?

Well...its not a 2 up but you can add a seat to it. My step father wants to sell his 2006 600 sdi Ski-Doo rev. Its got like 500miles on it and i call it "the garage queen". I will ask him what he wants for it if your interested. You can look at it any time in Central Square. They just sold my moms sled, that would have been a great sled for you.

Here is the only picture i can find right now.(got more someplace)

Bill,

You know how big I am and how tall the wife is, do you think that the +1 seat will be comfortable enough for us? If so then I am interested as I have heard nothing but good things about the 600 SDI!

To toss in my own 2 cents here...I know how big you are.  Bigger than me.  I have trouble fitting on anything I get on.  I doubt you'll have room for just yourself on anything you get.  We are always going to be cramped for leg space on anything made for the masses.  Adding another person to whatever you're riding on is only going to make it worse.  You might want to think about getting 2 sleds.

BTW, if you end up getting a sled, and we end up riding together, you'll be happy to know that I never fall off the sled.   :D

Congrats on the promotion at work.

Everything that Joe is saying is 100% true! Handle bar risers help us taller guys too.
Getting into sledding X2 is $ expensive $ though.

No, I cant see 2 adults on a +1 seat.
Personally,I cant stand to ride 2up AND the wife will NOT get on the back with me anyway.
I dont think you will be happy with a 2up. I also know how you ride and you and that crazy little woman of yours will want your OWN fun flipper under your thumbs.
The newer the sled the better!

 Deep Thoughts

All points that we've come up against in discussing this, for sure. At this point I think we're going to play it safe and stay with something that we can fit into the budget and still provide us with some wintertime entertainment. Hopefully we'll love it so much that next year I'll be looking for two, newer, faster sleds.  :D

BTW, if you end up getting a sled, and we end up riding together, you'll be happy to know that I never fall off the sled.   :D

Congrats on the promotion at work.

Joe

That makes me very happy and thanks! :D

If you pm me what you are looking to spend, I will watch for a sleds that is 2 up. Allso keep in mind that the OEM parts for a yamaha are about 25% higher than the other big three. Most of the stuff that you would need for regular maintaince you can get after market from parts unlimited ect. Once you get out there you will be hooked. ***Let It Snow***

Have you gotten a reply yet?

PB300... I was invited to be on the support crew again but don't have the time so I declined. You have to remember I can ride these trails on a daily basis if I wanted to so it's not really a big deal. There is always a group of 5-10 riders most Sunday mornings meeting somewhere.
Lynn and I did get into Tri-County Sportsman MC club. The club that puts on the Hammer Run Dual Sport and Greenbriar Enduros so we will be pretty busy helping them.
Sold Lynn's XT 350 last week and stopped to see an XT 225 for her today. The 225 has electric start and is a lot lighter so I think she will enjoy that a lot more. I have to go back and pick it up tomorrow becaus I had an 800 Rev Rs on my truck that I picked up for my buddy in Boonville today.
