Purchased a rack box, finally, something I said I'd never do. Reason why you ask? This one is a little different. It's the Arctic Cat Speedrack model that can be fitted with a quick-release kit for mounting directly to the rack. This box is also a little smaller than most. Meaning that it will (hopefully) not be in the way when I need to move my butt off the seat toward the rear of the machine. We'll see how that works out...

Anywhoo, here's some pix of the box mounted.

This is toward the back of the box. Only two pins are needed to secure the box.

This is toward the front of the box, you can see the "J" hook that slips into the front speedrack mount.

Back hinge, notice that this pin can be removed for fast separation of the top and bottom of the box.

Front latch and hinge location. Depending on where the hinge pins are placed, this box could be opened forward or rearward.

If you'd like to see these pix a bit larger, go here and click on the mid sized images to get the full size. Warning, they"re quite large!

Things to do:
- There seems to be a bit of "slop" in the front "J" hook mount. I'd like to find a thick "o-ring" or similar item to take up that movement so that box isn't bouncing at all.
- Finish installing the seal kit. I put most of it in, the important parts, but there is a bit more that I'm not too sure I like. I'd like to see if I can find something a little more durable for the application before I just slap in what they sent me.

Looks good!2pins EZ on/off! wish they made a smaller hard box for the front. My rear bag has 8 straps on it, kind of pain to get on/off. Ordered the front 4" extension rack for mine so i can carry more stuff, chain saw, gas......got to start working on my sled trails soon, the clubs on the last day of hunting....LETS RIDE!!!!!

I'm thinking that the 8" rear extension might be next. I think there's enough room for small gas cans between the sides of the box and where the extensions will end up. Might be able to use the Kolpin 1.5 gallon cans in that space. They're not cheap, but if they fit well they may be worth the price.

From Montana Jack's website:

Al,

I have the chainsaw press (lock) that fits into the speedrack and I have to tell you it's worth every penny! The saw doesn't move around at all.
