Rant Here  Lets start by stating i bought a 900 fusion. The new sled came with a 2 yr warranty. I bought this 05 in the end of the season and put about 500 miles on it in march of 05. I was very happy with the power and ride of my new sled.  That's where my happiness ends. The summer that followed was filled with trips to preferred powersports (PP) for recalls. Now in the beginning of the 06 season we had very limited riding weather so i put about a 100 miles on before the recalls began again. Many of them were very important so i stuck with getting them done asap. Every time i was told bring it right in  and we'll get it right back to you.... LOL. I guess it means different thing to different people. OK now we'll fast forward to when the snow gets here. It's January and we have snow on the south side of Oneida lake the lake is frozen and all is well. I get about 40 miles into a ride and a big puff of white smoke from under the cowl followed by steam and me instantly hitting the kill switch. I open the hood to find the motor cooked and having the coolant line going into the top of the head dangling. Mind you i never had a temp light or the temp gauge rise about 130. I get help and tow my sled home followed by its 7Th trip to the dealer (6 for recalls). Well everyone agrees the motor is cooked yet it is still under warranty till march so NP get it done and I'll ride again.
Now the real problems start. After 2 1/2 weeks I'm told there is no crate motor available for my sled. They have to order every part separately and assemble it in shop.  I'm not fond of this idea. But not having any choice what can i do. So I'm told the sled will be ready in about a week more. A week and a half goes by with no call so i call them. I get the excuse not all the parts are in. another week and the parts are all in now so i hear it will be done in a couple days. After 2 and a half weeks of hearing a couple days i get upset. Finlay the sled gets done.  Mechanic tells me it would have been done sooner if he wasn't constantly pulled away for other new equipment assemblies....lesson learned once you buy you don't matter anymore. About 8 weeks in the shop i get it back completed or so I'm told. i get my receipt(no charge) and look through the parts list. I noticed with this "new motor" it didn't get a new oil pump or a new water pump.Call me crazy but i would think the water pump would be a no brain er being as the miter was replaced from overheating.
OK i have a new motor and I'm outta the shopbut i have another problem  my warrant is expired while in the shop. I want this thing covered, PP tells me i have 30days i bitch loudly about that. After a couple calls to Polaris and many to PP I'm told i got a year extension. Again I'm happy, but it is short lived.  I unload my sled and drive it straight into the garage and park it. I come out to a huge pool of oil  back to the shop. I'm told it was oil that was left in the belly pan. I go for my first ride with the new motor about 60 mile and i have to stop and trailer back to the shop...outta oil. On the third trip in they find the leak . It was that they had reused crush washers. Now while in there the third time for the oil leak i informed them i was losing coolant.
Trip one for the coolant leak. The season is over by now and the sled is put away but i have nearly a full season with an extend warranty so I'm not concerned. The third season come and i find myself back there three more time to get the coolant leak fixed. Not until the fourth trip can they repair it...now here's the zinger. I'm outta warrant  again. They want $400 to replace the waterpump hosing and seal. So I wanna talk to the owner of preferred to see if we can get this worked out . I'm told he's not available. I leave my number say have him give me a call when he is. Do i get a call ?  Not from the owner but i do from the shop telling me he's not gonna return my call ever. Finlay i give them the OK to do the repair knowing full well its the last time I will be back there. But i Also call Polaris to complain. That's when I'm told i never got the extended warranty. I was flat out lied too. I now have my sled back and I have had my last experience inside preferred powersports.
I say inside because on my truck in big letters i have written "dissatisfied customer of preferred powersports". Within 24 hours i have been stopped by four people to talk about my statement and all of them have their own similar stories to tell. This winter I plan to keep it on my truck. When i get time i will park in front of PP. It may not get my money back but it sure as hell will make me feel better.
If anyone cares to join me let me know.

Let me go into more detail of my last two trips for the leak in the coolant. This will explain why i really got pissed. OK, i went in again before my warranty was supposedly expired and reported i had a coolant leak between the motor and the bulkhead. Now mind you i had just finished a detailed cleaning of the sled inside and out so i know where the coolant was splattered and where it was not. So i drop the  sled off and in about a week i was told it was done. I picked up the sled and was told a rubber hose was broke. I asked which hose because i thought i would have seen this had it been fact. They told me it was the hose under the drive belt and the belly pan was crushed, pushing a metal plate into the hose crushing it. I asked if they had the correct sled knowing there had never been any damage to the belly pan especially where they suggested it was.It would have been tucked up behind the left shock . Mind you this is black plastic.I told them i wanted to see the damage because i had just washed and waxed and saw nothing like this. They proceeded to attempt to show me but said the mechanic had popped it out and nothing was visible...no wrinkle,  no bent plate, couldn't even show me the damaged hose. I told them had there been any damage it must have happened at preffered because it didn't happen by me. But supposedly the leak was fixed.
I get the sled home and had to clean it again because it was left outside and i wanted to polish the tunnel.
i get home and drive the sled from the driveway to my front yard doing a lap or two in the small field. When i get out front and park it i still see the coolant is low and again splattered behind the motor . I call preferred and tell them, They say well it's summer and we are working on wheelers so you can bring it down later and we'll take care of it. I tell them i don't want it sitting outside and they say wait till later in the summer so i do.
when i do bring it back to them for the exact same problem(4Th time now) they tell me it will have to stay outside i say just get it done. A week later i get a call from the shop telling me it's gonna cost $400 to fix it. I explain to the shop manager when this problem started and how many times its been in for the same problem and I'm told there's nothing he can do, it's up to Shawn(the owner). I ask to talk to Shawn and I'm told he's not available. I left two numbers with them and said to have him call me when he is available. I never hear from Shawn. Instead i hear from the shop again asking if i wanted the work done. I tell them i wanted to discuss this with the owner thinking he is a fair man. I'm told he won't talk to me! The manager said he discussed this with Shawn twice and he will not return my calls  or take my calls. I drove their and asked to speak with him and was told he was to busy to talk to me.
After all this i was not going to let them finish the work but they wanted to charge me a $100 to pick up my sled without anything being done. So i decided to let them finish it for the last time. I knew i would not be back again for anything at this point. That is when i put on my truck i was dissatisfied customer. I showed up to pick up my sled with it on and while waiting for them to get my bill together Shawn showed up SCREAMING  at me to get the flock off his property with my truck. I walked outside and called 911 to have the police deal with him and he came outside screaming at me while on the phone with 911. They said i should get out of there now because he is obviously violent.  On my way home I see a town of Cicero cop and stop and talk with him. He tells me to call the sheriff's office and ask to be escorted in to pick up my sled. The next day i do just that. The same cop i spoke with is there to handle it and he says he will go in first to talk to Shawn while i wait down the street.  Shawn tells the cop that he won't accept my credit card only cash or certified check. Now it is after 5 so the banks are closed. But the wife had here stash so i go back with cash . The cop told me i could go back alone i won't have any problems, so i go back without him. Now it's 6 o'clock and my third trip. I go in and pay for the sled all is quiet. I'm outside waiting for them to bring it around and guess who shows up again.  He starts bitching again and tells me he still doesn't have to give me my sled( after its payed for). I disagree. I tell him the police disagree and he says they don't know what they are talking about. Anyway after a few minutes he leaves and my sled is driven around the building on the blacktop and parked behind my trailer. I loaded my sled and and that was my last trip into preferred powersports.

P.S  The sign on my truck has worn off in the rain but it will be replaced and i will take pictures.  although maybe if you ask preferred they will send copies because they took pictures both times i was in their lot. I posed for one of them.

OMFG

I can't tell you the chill that just went down my spine.

I didn't even know the guy but was feeling his pain through his words here.

Bill, I hope that you know and you will let his family know that even though he was new to our site he was one of us and will be missed.
