I CAN-AM CAN YOU

Just like to know if this bike can be fitted with dirt wheels and rims, also any input on how well this bike handles on pavement. Is the gearing any different,or the rake.

Yes you can bolt the dirt rims right on but I think you need an adaptor bracket for the front caliper as the SM rotor is larger. The gearing is higher but you can have the dirt sprocket bolted on the dirt wheel ready to go.
The main difference is the valving in the shock/forks... for the riding up there it should be acceptable unless you are doing a lot of jumps (which we know you NEVER do  LOL) If you need to stiffen it up you will need the forks/shocks re-valved.

Now I want to see you convince Paula to let you get this Praise

I just sold a 400sm and had dirt wheels for it. If you use the SM rotors on the off road wheels you won't need any caliper relocators. The SM and S use the same hubs so the rotors from the SM bolt right on. I really liked my SM, with the SM wheels it was a riot to ride around town or on back roads but they are no power house. I had a full exhaust, air box mods, jet kit and changed the gearing which made a huge difference but its still only a 40hp bike. Here is a pic of my old '06.
