I have newish tires to put on my bike, but I'm lacking the cahonies to get the stock Dunlop D756s off.  I changed some softer tires earlier this year on a different bike and that was quite difficult, but doable.  These tires are a whole different league, or I've gone severely backwards in the man department.  I'm not even close to getting the tire up over the lip.

Are there any good "garage mechanics" in the Pulaski area who will change tubed bike tires?  I'd really like to avoid paying a week's salary to a dealer.

Ya know you should really be able to do this yourself... What happens when you are 30 miles from nowhere and get a flat?

Have you tried putting the rim on a trash can or drum with the top cut out? You would be surprised at how much it helps. Maybe you just need longer irons for the leverage.
Stiff tires are nice if you want to run low pressure in the rocks but changing them is a PITA.

That's what frustrates the hell out of me....apparently I'll be riding out on a flat when I get one.  Maybe I'll get myself an "enforcer" (pipe) and try it again.  Still not going to help out on the trail....

Where are you located?  if you're close, I'd be happy to change it for you...

I'm near Pulaski, but I doubt your chiropractor would like this idea!

I'm probably 3 or 4 hours from you...    I have another chiropractor appt tomorrow.   I'm thinking that driving to Watkins Glen & back on my motorcycle last weekend was probably a bad idea.

If you haven't gotten it done yet there is a place in Sandy Creek. Used to be Ontario Tire but now it's Bardees. I think the sign still says Ontario Tire. They will change any tire and they are very reasonable. If you are going into Sandy Creek on Rt 11 it is on the left before you get to the light. Big old building with two garage doors and a big dirt parking lot to the left of the building.
