I hope we make it through the warm up. The ground is froze deep right now so a good dumping of snow would make things mint. We got about 8 inches in Pulaski today but it's that poofy stuff that doesn't amount to crap. You're lucky to gain an inch of base out of a foot of this stuff. I'm itchin' to get in the groomer!

It's not often that the ground is frozen this early.  It will be nice if it survives this thaw, and then gets a couple of feet of fresh snow on top of it!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

If we all do that and a little snow-dance here and there, maybe we'll get our wish!

So much for the new snow.  38 degree temps and rain have put a beating on it around my house..  What's worse is that all the frozen water is gone.  It may refreeze easily if the temps drop quickly. We get our next Lake Effect blast on Tuesday, so we may have a fighting chance to get some more miles in before the New Year.

On the upside, I was able to get my crawler going again.  The shifter boot on the trans started leaking, and it let some water in the trans. I went to move some snow with it a couple of weeks ago, but ice was jamming the shifter inside.  It wouldn't go into gear.  With the warmup we had today I was able to move it near the garage where I could drain the trans and diffs.  Thankfully it didn't do any permanent damage.

As of yesterday afternoon, Altmar and Orwell took a beating. Lacona has virtually no snow left. A few people were actually riding in the area...on dirt and rocks? No thanks.

We got enough to ride from Mexico, but not a lot to spare.  How is it elsewhere now that we've had a little Lake Effect?
