Who has it already? What are your thoughts?
Mine is getting installed as I type this... I really am looking forward to the better cable experience (remote DVR programing etc) and the faster internet.
Right now on Time Warner everything works, but faster is always better.
Here is what I am getting for speeds now.

I will post the speed again after the install of FIOS is done.

Can't wait to see the FiOS difference at your place.

FWIW

Lunchtime here isn't bad...

I know our connection to OCM is around 100 Mb, from there who knows. So this is pretty accurate.

Kick ass from what I've heard.  Plus you're on your own pair of dedicated wires.  Cable uses broadband  so when the kids are home from school on a snow day, my page load times are agonizingly slow!!  Wish I could get it where I live, but it's not coming anytime soon, so be happy you have a choice.

Ok..
They are all done, seems very nice, although its going to take me a week to get used to the remote and the menus for the cable.
Here is a speed test from my laptop plugged into the router.

Why is it pinging a server in Red Bank NJ? The first test you posted shows Rochester... I would think it would make a difference with a longer distance I know we are talking speed of light for both Fiber Optics and Wire but if you are dealing in milliseconds it can make a difference.

It certainly does. When you use Speedtest you can pick the server you wish you use and you will get different results. You might think that distance would make all the difference but in reality it is only a small part of the equation. Quality of line and total throughput from your closest transfer to your ISP and then to the other main server makes more difference than distance.

Try the same tests at a time of day when there is little traffic (like a sunday afternoon when everyone is watching football) and you will see a huge difference.
