It definitely looks like an X-Package.
Electric start was an available option. (Oldsters like myself have it.)
The 600 SDI is a really nice motor.

Do they have the dual (high & low pressure) fuel pumps on the 600 SDI? I only ask because the 1000 SDI;s have them and when the low pressure pump fails the motor will become irratic and if continued to ride with it bad it accounted for 50% of the motor failures they had with the other half being fron ingested belt debris. Both problems are easily fixed and with some extra power and ground leads from the battery you make those SDI's a very reliable and long lasting sled.

Its deff a X, unless someone made it that way, but the windshield and hand guards are of X origin, the shock package will be the main item you want with that X package though, throw a set of dual or triple rate springs all around on that and you have a monster... regardless, you will love it! As far as I know there were 2 options when that sled was ordered, electric start or extended engine warranty.... looks like yours got the warranty. Electric start sure is nice to have though... Thought yours had it, I don't see any recoil rope marks / stains on the plastic in the pic you posted, so I assumed it was E/S.

The SDI does have dual pumps. I'll be sure to watch for any loss of power that might lean it out. From what I understand the low pressure pumps only operate when the fuel level is below 1/4 tank or so. With a full tank, the pump still runs, but is ineffective.
It does have rebuildable shocks, but no electric start. It has a tiny battery, and a small capacitor. The battery is shot. The engine was stalling when put into reverse, except when I connected a good battery to it. With it disconnected it would stall again. Looks like I've gotta put a new battery in it, even though it doesn't have ES. Kinda silly, but whatever...

I believe if you buy the e/s the battrey comes with it, and you will enjoy the push button and go.I'm thinking the battery cost $120 +or-,E/S around $450 +or-.

My 1000 started last winter at around 1/3 of a tank or a little more to miss but luckily we were only a mile or so from montague inn so I was able to fill it up and had no problems the rest of the year because 2/3's of my 1000's tank gets me further than my buddies Apex gets him with a full tank. Changed the pump out and also went with UNI filters on the throttle bodies when bolting on the rage cages (no more torn boots).
