carb question

just changes fuel lines an my atv an added new filters added 1 extra filter from fuel pump to the carp .. question is i fired it up with air box off i got alot of gas spray from the rod the silde works on sprayin towards the air filter is this normal ?

I figured someone would have answered this by now...
It is normal for carbs to spit back into the air filter due to turbulence in and around the carb venturi.

impossible to answer without seeing it. Some spitting is normal, but there's a fine line between what's OK and what's not...especially ona 4 stroke. If it's running OK, don't worry about it.

Does it spit back when idling or when you open the throttle? It is normal to get some mist out of carb when cracking the throttle due to the lesser volume of air verses fuel. The carb has to add fuel to engine first so it can suck in more air. There is nothing wrong.
