Gotta keep the radiator clean.. lol... its hard when its dust city though...
Take a garden hose and hook it up to a hot water faucet and rinse the radiator with just hose pressure and it will melt out of there easily.

i do after every ride, but this thing is hard to get to!
  Works best if you can do from the inside and blow it out. Maybe difficult but is worth doing,the alternative is expensive.  POP!

glad you got it straightened out!  Riding for the next few weeks for me is gonna be a little rough.  I may try to get out Sunday AM, but then I'm gone for a couple of weeks straight.  The upside is that I'll be doing some salt water fishing while I'm gone!
