No Training Wheels!

« on: June 01, 2010, 07:16:16 PM »

Got to camp Thursday afternoon and settled in.
Friday 8:30 AM the dumpster arrives as scheduled and Lynn and I fill a 10 yard dumpster with trash and materials leftover from the removal of the trailer that was on the property when we bought it.

Saturday Lynn and I go for a 90 mile ride around the top of the Hill... we tried to have lunch at Tug Hill Inn but the barmaid was terminally stupid so we left and rode over to Doyle's Pub in West Lowville and had a nice quiet lunch... nice to have the DS bikes so you are not stuck on the beaten path!

Sunday was a group ride... we started with 7 bikes but two dropped out (husband & wife) so the five of us ended up with 110 miles. We stopped by the Snotime/McStar compound and met Jarzie who said they were over at PJs.

Worth & Culpepper...

Lunch @ Florence Hotel

It was a bit dusty in the back of the pack :D

Sunday Lynn and I went out for another 60 miles over toward Brantingham, Lyonsdale and Port Leyden hitting some fire roads in the Lewis County Reforestation areas.

In the background of this pic you can see Snow Ridge which is about where we came from.

One of the guys that rode with us named Rich mentioned riding with a "Real Tall Guy" on a KTM on the Oswego Trails... I assumed it was you Joe. He has a place in Redfield on Rt2 and has a KTM 200 but used his Kawi Super Sherpa for this ride.

Over in Lyonsdale I think... That reminds me I haven't downloaded the tracks from the GPS yet when I do I can give you an exact location.

The trailer did give us shelter and storage for a few years while we built the cabin so no complaints here. It even housed seven of us the week we put up the logs.

sounds like it served it purpose well for you, the trailer we had to clean up had already been tore apart and left to rot...

I'm really bad with names...so not sure if I know him or not.  I'm sure I'd recognize him or his bike though!
