At this time these machines will not be able to be registered in New York State as the dry weight starts out at 1287 lbs.

I'm waiting to see what the title is stamped with, on BRP website they list ATVs as off road the Spyder roadster vehicle and the new Commander as a side x side vehicle will the title be Registerable have to weight and see.

Can not believe BRP wouldn't have done enough homework here to see the weight being a problem here in NY,of course unless they know something. Maybe enough other places besides NY to ride to make the market worth there while, and wait for NY to fall in place? Is a sweet looking rig,a little pricie for me but I'm sure there will be lots of them on the trails.

I see nothing about:
Windscreen
Turn Signals
Horn
DOT Tires
Federal Emissions Approval

All of which are required to register ANY four wheeled vehicle for street use.
The big one is emissions if it is not federally tested and approved rest assured you are NOT registering it for road use especially in New York.

Looks like Can-Am built themselves a White Elephant as far as current ATV registration laws go.

I made a little correction to your last statement.  :D

Lets not forget that Can-Am is an international company. They sell products world wide and this vehicle will most certainly do well where it can be used.

The Commander is not listed as a ATV/UTV BRP is calling it a SXS Vehicle, it will be up to the state as far as registration goes. The vehicle does meet Emissions,( all BRP motors are above that hurtle) has two taillights for turn singles and break/taillights,can get half or full windscreen, and any 12" or 14" dot tires you choose. The dealer is not sure about registration either at this point.
