Someone just sent this to me.  I'll stick to trail riding...and I fall off enough just doing that!

Racing (of any type) is way different and more dangerous than regular trail riding, and closed course racing is most dangerous of all imo.  At least with a harescramble race the bikes are a bit more spread out, but with mx, they're all bunched together and the domino effect always takes its toll, especially in that first turn.

ps - that looks like a huge rock in one of the earlier clips.  What genius decided to put that there?

Most of the crashes were due to the fact that some idiot track designer thinks everyone wants to race supercross with crazy jumps.

You can't beat the rush you get when your on the line and they turn the 30 second board sideways and the engines all start to scream. Then the gate drops and its a big drag race. Heres a vid of a friend of mine from 3 weeks ago at a harescamble. Gives you a good idea what its like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6usc6TR_5w

Yeah - I sold the KTM the first week in May, then found a KX 100 (my avatar) in July, and last Sunday I picked up a 2005 KDX 220.  The KX works great in my backyard, but wouldn't be able to keep up on the trails.  I haven't had a chance to really ride the KDX, but I think it's gonna be awesome!  It has:
-- gnarly woods pipe
-- brand new V force reeds
-- brand new fmf power core 2 silencer
-- WER suspension
-- Devol skid plates
-- brand new top end
-- pro taper bars

Nice vid highgear.  I think the (mostly) single track nature of harescrambles alleviates some of the big pileups that plague the mx world.
-- moose barkbuster/hand guards.

did the area 51 grand prix harescramble event in the 30+ vet C class 2 weeks ago and it was INTENSE. it was all mud everywhere, terrible. it poured before our classes went out. and during it. most adrenaline ive ever pumped and tired ive ever been.
