can't get the axle out, pushing it in then hard yank, had a 4' slide hammer on it till it's almost falling off the jack stands
thinking about pulling the outher axle out and putting a rod/bar and trying it from the outher side if I can get that one out!
what do you think?

I know I'm a little late, but back when I had a quad I would leave the castle nut on and just drop the a-arms from the machine. Then I could use the combined weight of the spindle/hub and a-arms to pull the axles out. Worked like a charm. :-)

Here is the trick to getting out any captured snap ring cv joint housing.
As you apply slight outward pressure take a air hammer with a round hammer bit and rattle the cv housing on the side at a 90 degree angle to the cv housing and the cv housing will fall out like butter.
The outward pressure with the rattleing from the air hammer will compress the ring and Walla the housing pops out.
