So,receiced tax bill for camp, more then doubled last year. Makes me want to think about a for sale sign.  I should sell to just what the locals folks from the area dislike most, folks from New Jersey and blacks. Might be looking for a poorest biggest black welfare  family from N.J. I can find to put on their tax burden.  I have addressed this thing over and over with the town and their atitude is if you can afford a camp and home also you can pay higher taxes the others.  I'm aware of other property owners in the area with water, ele, plowed roads ( none of which I have, and the list goes on )that pay less then myself.  The only thing I get for owning and paying my taxes there is a chance to come back and spend money in there community.

As we were told when we mentioned houses/camps/property owned by residents and non-residents alike that had more services (power/plowed,etc.) than us that had lower taxes... "We just haven't got to them yet" It's just a matter of time until everyone's taxes are re-accessed and brought up to STATE standards. As we were told at our meeting THE STATE is pushing to have the tax logs updated and the areas that got away cheap all these years are seeing the worst increases.
Doesn't really matter what the place looks like from the outside they just basically go by size, number of bedrooms and acreage so you might as well have something nice since you are paying the same no matter what (within reason)

As far as threatening to rent it out to undesirables... Do you think the locals really believe they would want to move up there?
Only the rich people from Jersey are dumb enough to have a place up there. Huh??

NY State realy needs to figure out something, all you ever hear is how broke the state is and how an increase in all taxes and fees is the only answer. How about selling off some state land, not only will it be an increase in income for that year but it will help in a long run due to less maintance costs on our tax dollar.

Received school taxes the other day went up a $100.00 and now for all of our taxes School, Village and County I have to set a side more a month than what our house payment was. The only good thing is we haven't had a house payment in 15 years.
