Very nice machine, I didnt feel the hugh difference in power the dealer claimed between my 660 and the 700 (really its a 686) i rode. The power steering is great in the woods and in diff lock mode. Other wise it steers as normal. The power steering almost acts as a dampner when hitting things. If you have a 660 i wouldnt sell it at a lose to get a 700 but if buying new why not buy the 700. Thats my thoughts. Later - JT

Gearslayer just got a new Grizzly 700. He is very happy with it. Apparently, there is a way that you can reprogram the EFI, right from the display panel, and make some very nice power gains over the stock settings. He created a website called grizzlycentral and I believe he has quite a bit of info, on the new Grizzly, posted on that site. He did tell me that the power steering is great and really makes it one heck of a trail machine. It is a nice quad, but I am still partial to V-twins.

I will have to check that site out. Programmable EFI huh??? sounds interesting... I have a 03 Grizzly now and love it, I also have a V-Force, and I really would love a V-Twin in a Grizzly....lol...lol.... Pj

Thank you very much... I have been been doing plenty of reading and work on forums this week with the lack of snow and being on vacation.... Who knows, if we don't get any snow at all I may have a couple new quads decided on by February... Pj

There are an awful lot of very good quads out there these days. When I got my Prairie 650, it was pretty easy. If you wanted the best, you either got a Prairie, or a Grizzly. Many more choices now and they are all good quads in their own way. If $$ were not an issue, I would give serious consideration to the Can-Am quads right now. Of course, I am in the middle of having the engine on my P650 rebuilt and hopefully it will hang with the fastest quads out there when I am done. Of course, I am not hoping to hang with Mark's Prairie, but I will be fast none the less.

The Can-Ams do look sweet!! I want to test ride a Outlander 800 EFI, I hear they are pretty sweet, but pricey..... As far as keeping up with Mark, thats not gonna happen..... but it is fun riding with him none the less.

Just rode a 700 Grizz two days ago, really short ride around a dirt parking lot with some muddy ruts just off the end of it. Put in in 4, lock and it could steer! I was amazed! Other than the light steering it felt very smooth off the throttle. Sorry I can't offer more.

Being able to steer in 4 low in diff lock has to be sweet !! I love the 4wd controls on my Grizzly, I think they are the same on the new ones?? right?? simple thumb operation (other than shifting to 4 low). Pj

I have very limited experience with the Grizz's but I'm pretty sure that the 4x4 switches are the same.
After finishing my post I was thinking back to the Arctic Cat 700 that I just tested a few weeks ago. Very similar to the Grizz 700 but the AC is bigger and heavier. The Cat could wheelie very easily and I couldn't get the Grizz up as easily. The Grizz had the better ride however as Cats NEED sway bars in the rear in the worst way!!! Thank GOD AC offers them as options!
I hope you have better luck deciding on a new machine than I'm having. The more I look the more I want one of EVERYTHING! LOL

I thought cat offered them as options like you say, I cant possibly think of riding a big bore with out them. As to the decision.... its hard, there are so many great choices, it comes down to dealers and pricing sometimes also. I have been following your "torture" of picking a new ride in your decisions post.... and I will make up my mind by spring I hope....lol...lol.... What are you looking to get for the Trailblazer? I need multiple wheelers this spring and buying a used one is in the cards for the kids (teens).
