from what i understand, Doug's Powersports in Cortland is rumored to be getting some in....
i think i might just have to keep an eye out.
i am sure that my wife would have a few choice words to say if i even thought about spending a dime on one, let alone the $15k to buy one.
but i am sure that should i become unable to ride a regular motorcycle, this is going to be on my short list of cool vehicles to own.

According to the Spyder intro site, there will be numerous opportunities in the northeast US for anyone to see and possibly get a test ride. I'm thinking that I'll have to make it to one of those!

Very cool and I could see myself wanting one some day.  I am not ready for three wheels, on the road, yet though.  I will still take my old Honda Shadow when I am looking for a day of cruising with the wind in my face.

According to the video there is only going to be 1,000 of these made this year....
I doubt we will see them on the road much around here.... maybe....
I sure would like to test ride one, maybe they will be at some of the bike rallies and such this summer.

On a side note.... I was at Ingles recently and I was talking to Mike and he is telling me the new Spyder will not require a motorcycle license, just some type of 3 wheeler endorsement on your regular license???
Does anyone know anything about this??
He also said he is only getting 2 of them in the next 2 months or so and he has to keep 1 for a demo until fall when he will get 7 more.

I don't believe that will be the case. Motorcycles that are converted to three-wheelers do not have their registrations changed, they are still motorcycles.

I know that this is a bit different, but I can't see an open vehicle like this meeting the safety requirements of the majority of the states in the US to be considered a "car". If it can't pass inspection as a car then it won't matter how the registration reads. It won't end up on the road, legally.

There are, however, several companies working feverishly on getting "motorcycles" with more than 2 wheels register-able in the US. GGG with the BMW engined quad, Polaris with the new Revolver and now Can-Am with the Spyder. So, it only makes sense that we'll end up seeing factory produced, 3 and 4 wheeled "motorcycles" in the very near future.

Personally, I can't wait!
