I'm going to dig out my DW mags and see if they ever mention a "true" weight for the 800 Outty. That would be very interesting I think.

I too think it would be interesting...
They need to do real world weights on these ATV's (sleds too).
Load them with all the fluids and a couple options and give me a real weight...

Here's the plan...

Next spring I'm going to look for a used V. I have a couple ideas about how I'd like to change it to match my personality, if you will. Perfect compliment to my current ride.

you could always get a 2nd hand prairie and beef up the engine.  you would spend less $$ and have a strong, sporty 4wd.  a fundy 730 kit would hang with a renegade with no problem, I am sure.

Haven't rode one but have read an article where they put it up against a Yamaha Raptor 700 and a Yamaha Grizzly   They didn't like the weight  800 lbs. OMFG  didn't like they way it handled either.  I still got the mag  give me a shout  and keep the KFX!!!!

I picked up DW tonight, I am going to read the article.

About the only thing different between the renagade and outty is take off the renagade is quicker off the line, but both have about same top speed.

Dirt Wheels printed a retraction in this past month's rag. They made an error with the weight and meant to say that it was just over 700 lbs. That's better but it's still a beast.

I still think I would go with the Outty...
For the $ difference and versatility it just makes more sense.

I must say that I've been seriously contemplating it. Ingles has a very good price on them also. Quite a bit below retail.
