Just curious if all things stay the same (rumors aside in other words) where would you spend your money?

It would also be cool to know if you would stay with the same brand. I'm not that brand loyal anymore but maybe you are. It would be cool to know and maybe even why you are or are not going to stay with the same brand.

Thanks in advance!  :D :D

I have had no problems with my current brands (that I haven't caused at least) but I am looking hard at the Can-Am's
That Outlander 800 really peaks my interest, I just want to put a couple miles on one before I go and drop the cash on one.

All depends on what the wife likes and what I tell her she would be better off getting.   she liked the cats she saw at Gander Mountain

I voted Can-Am but that's if I buy new. I'm still very interested in finding a gently used V-Force to play with. Would have been awesome to have one on the Altmar trails the other day.  :D

She truly admitted to me that she is a little scared of the power it has, she needs one with a little less power. But guess what she wont give it up and go back to riding the scrambler. I was looking at getting her a 500 outty, but it has strut front end. Not that it is bad, on our powerless(polaris) we have gottin used to strut handling. The ds450 is out no reverse, the renagade in a 500 with 4 wheel drive just may be the one for Paula. Looking to demo ride one.

doesn't the 500 come with smaller tires. I thought about one of those before I found the demo, started comparing and I did want the bigger tire available on the 650/800 XT package

There is a difference, I didn't realize that the 650/800 use 26" tires.

1/2" difference in ground clearance isn't much to worry about, IMHO.

The 400 is a fantastic ride and yes it has struts.

Just to add a comment here. I think that the MacPherson struts on the Polaris ATV's are one of the main reasons why they have a far superior ride when compared to any other ATV made. That being said, that's about the only thing they have going for them.

Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth.

We're probably done buying ATVs

The 500 Sportsman is fine for what we will use it for once Lynn gets a bike... Uutility work around camp and getting in and out of camp in Fall/Spring when there is too much snow to drive in and not enough to ride the sleds.

Im gonna stick with what works...Suzuki. I have ridden an Outty 800 and didnt like the way the Visco-lok spools up in technical terrain...it's a bit jerky. I like to be able to engage and disengage my locker as needed. I really had a hard time with it....seemed kinda dangerous.

Well, yesterday was interesting to say the least. I learned a LOT about what Can-Am (BRP) is able to do when they put their heads into it. I had a demo-ride on the Spyder. This thing was an amazing technological piece of rolling awesomeness. To me, it was the "ultimate" atv that isn't meant to be an ATV. Let me explain...

Riding the Spyder was like riding a very fast quad on the street with a few differences. This thing flat hauled butt! It uses the fuel injected v-twin from the sled/Outty that's been around awhile. 1000cc & EFI mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. There was absolutely none of the wobbly tired, randomness that you get with an ATV that doesn't have a differential out back to allow the rear tires to spin independently when on black-top. Instead it has just one wheel and believe me you have no idea that's the case when you're driving it! It also has three things that make sure that it provides a safe ride for whoever is on it. Traction control (no spinning the rear wheel), stability control (no lifting one of the front tires in a corner) and anti-lock brakes all the way around. You might want to say here "that's no fun, where's the excitement in that?" You would be missing the real point. [rambling]This thing is a venture in the right direction for all of us. The safer it is and the more people that it appeals to the greater the chances that we'll get what Europe already has, street legal ATV's. How would you like it if roads didn't have to be "opened" for you to go from one trail to another. You could just drive there on ANY road, as long as you were properly licensed of course.  :D [/rambling]

So it was a general kick in the pants to ride and I submit it as a possible "next atv" to own even though it should be in the "next motorcycle to own" category.

Some Pix:

Getting ready for the demo ride.

Looking a bit anxious to get going.

No body roll, at all! This thing handles better than any sports car at twice the price.

Cranking the bars for the cam! "Look ma, no roll!"

Look at that FAT rear [tire]!
