Sitting in my big chair, bowl of ice cream sitting next to me, quads washed, my nasty a$$ washed, dinner done and I can barely type this. Every muscle in my body is past pain and entering shut down mode.

Great to see Adirondack Man and Gearslayer down from the great white north. PJ and Missy were as hospitable as ever. Also nice to meet many NYRiders members that we didn't expect to see there. I hope PJ remembers them all, I certainly can't.

Thanks for the cheers, made me drive harder & faster!

Thanks for the water at the end, I'll never do that again without a camelback. Legs still don't feel right.

What an awesome day!

No problem on the hospitality, its great to hang out and enjoy the sport with friends.
Thank you to Lakeaffect and the Spice Rack for the use of the tent and the table, the tent sure was nice to be under this afternoon.

I am going to start a post in the pics forum, lets put all of our pictures there along with what ones you want to put in this thread.

I would like to mention that I am sorry I didn't get any pics of the bikes, I was working tech inspection almost the whole time the bikes were running, I just didn't have the camera with me.
Look on our forum for the banner of race shotz, he will have tons of pictures of the quads and the bikes.
I think they had about 200 bikes enter in the 11am race, that is a ton of bikes to tech and get to the line!!
And a special thanks to Highgear for hosting us and putting on this event.

Looks like it was a great time. Congrates to you guys that did so well.
I never got back from camp until mid afternoon so I never made it out there.

Hey PJ, any way you can make it so the pics don't require scrolling? Actually, even when I scroll I only get half the pic and on a higher screen setting I still have to scroll. It kinda sucks when there's a block of 5 or 6 pics and the scroll bar is at the bottom of them all.

Hmmm....
I will have to do some work on that I guess.
I don't have to scroll on my screen, so I didn't think there was a problem...
What is your screen set at?
I am set at 1024 X 768
GWH, do you have any suggestions?
I will look in the settings on the forum software in a bit...

On smaller computer screens, even at higher res, the browser loads the side panels, etc, then fills the page with the rest of the "page". This sometimes makes the scrolling occur in the message area. You can see it in the avatars of some of the members sometimes also.

Sooo....

The fix should be as simple as going higher than 1024x768 to maybe 1280x1024 unless you are using a 14" or smaller screen (some smaller laptops have these, I have two that do) an in these cases the higher resolution sacrifices readability in ways that it may not be a realistic option.

I always try to keep the pix I post to smaller than 600 pixels wide, and normally link a 400 pixel image to the original so that folks can see/download if they like while not getting into the whole scrolling thing.

It is hard to compensate for all possible outcomes when you are providing stuff for others to see. Currently I use a 15" wide screen laptop that has a res set at 1920x1200. Freakin amazing and I can always see everything on any website, but, when designing I always change to 800x600 to test. You get the feel for it real quick!

Oh, one more thought. Some applications run as a "side bar" and take up part of your screen, making your web browser (for example) narrower than full screen. Try viewing the site with this feature turned off (Google Desktop is one of these applications) if you have it that is.

Ok, my fingers hurt now. I have to save what I have left (and that isn't much) for uploading these damn pix/vids. ;-)

I'm usually at 800X600 cuz i'm old, blind, and my monitor sucks but when I want to look at the pics on here I bump it up to 1024 X 768. Even when I'm at the higher setting I have to scroll the pics a bit. What sucks most is once you go down and scroll everything to center, the captions start to disappear to the left so you can't read them. I'm running a 19 inch monitor but if I went to 1280 X 1024 I wouldn't even be able to read the print from 5 inches away.

That is definitely not a unique issue. MANY people need to use lower resolution on their monitors for a multitude of reasons. The glare often renders some fonts unreadable, as an example, to folks with some sight related issues that are enhanced by bright lights. Simply dimming the monitor is often not the answer as this can lead to eye strain! Talk about lose/lose. In this case, lowering the resolution increases font sizes without having to modify font settings in the OS, something that is NOT pretty and often causes more problems than it is worth.

Did you know that there is a magnifying tool built into Windows? It's in the Accessibility folder in your Accessories list in the Programs list. Pretty neat feature and very usable with a large monitor.
