Just curious how long folks have been riding. I'm wondering what the first ATV was that was yours alone. Either you purchased it or it was purchased for you, but it was yours. Mine was when I was 16. First credit purchase, 1986 YFM225 Moto 4 and it was red. I loved that machine and I rode it everywhere! I'm 38 now so that means that I've been riding (on and off) for 22 years!

Gotta think about that for a bit.... I have had a bunch.... but I am trying to think of the one I owned outright.... most of the younger days riding was on ones me and my buddies pooled our money together to buy some piece of crap to terrorize the neighborhood on....

Well, I'd have to say the first wheeler I purchased was the one I have now, '03 Polaris Sportsman 600, I bought it one year ago. The first 4-wheeler I had was a 1984 or 85 ish 225 yamaha moto-4. My father bought it in 1986...he said I could drive it when my feet could touch the shifter and the brake...well I was 7 when that happened and rode it until he sold it when I was in college. If only the ones now could run like that thing...I don't ever remember having a problem other than a dead battery or flat tire!

My first wheeler was a tri-moto yamaha 175 back in 1980. Be for that it was all go carts and mini bikes, and motor cycles. This trend is making me old so I'm not going to say how old I was when I started ridding motor powered toys.

I started with a 1970 Speedway 2 wheel mini bike. was riding it all over lewis county. don't know if it counts as a ATV or not. 1st sled was a 1970 moto-ski that my dad, brother and I got. My 1st sled that was all mine was a 1973 scorpion (400rv) those were the days when we had to groum trails with a set of bed spring. there were no clubs or club groumers back then.

Lets see my first was a 88 Yamaha Warrior......ran that puppie everywhere.....only issue i had with it was the chain jumped off one day in a mud-hole....and broke the motor case where the chain guard bolts on......filled the hole with some two part weld.....spot tacked the tab back on and road it another 2 years or so....never leaked a drop out of the hole in case....since then i have had;90 warrior,86 Suzuki Quad-racer 250,88 Quad-racer 250,95 Kodiak,05 polaris sportsman 400,06 polaris phoenix,07 wolverine.......numerous bikes and sleds.....

I never recall having any problems with you keeping up either You were not with us on the ride before we met up with you at camp and even after that you guys were way ahead of me When the rest of the group is waiting at every stop or turn for me to catch up then my wheeler is too slow. Even Rob agreed with me when he started riding behind me he saw for his self that my wheeler would not go any faster

My first one was a 78 Honda 110 ATC, then I gradiated to a 84 250 ATC. After that I went to four wheels, first was a 1985 Yammy Moto-4 200. What a rough riding thing that was! No rear suspension at all but you couldn't kill it, although it sure tryed to kill me!. Next was my all time favorite which I'm still kicking myself in the ass for selling. A 87 Suzuki LT250 Quadracer. That thing was mint when I sold it. After that I layed low on the wheelers for awhile because all the "no where to ride crap" had begun. Then I felt the need again and bought my 250 Trail Boss. That lasted several years up until I sold it this summer. That was another bike you couldn't kill. It still fired up every time and never left me stranded. Now I've got my 06 450 Sportsman. It seems like a dog compared to some of the others but for working it seems to kick butt. It yanked a few 10' long logs down the trail last weekend that my 18" Husky could fit all the way through. As long as we don't hit to many rippin' stretchs it keeps up but when we do you all want to wait for me at the next intersection? That thing couldn't hit 56MPH if it was dropped out of a plane. Once it hits 55 it's done!
