I dont mean that in a bad way I know that all the advice you guys gave me is fair and most likely right , but I can ride well for my age and the point im making is that its so so so sweet looking and it be great just to cruze around town and turn heads and pick up girls , I mean what else did you guys do at my age ? the point is , it just sits in the garage collecting dust so why cant he just let me use it like on weekends , I know there fast but I am the one controlling the throttle , he took the thing out last week for a 2.2 second ride , changed the oil which had all of 30 miles on it and parked it agian I'm with him so thats why I keep on asking him to give it to me or at least let me ride the thing once and a while , I dont feel im asking alot.


PJ:  you wanted a pic and this is the only one I can find at the moment but maybe I can pull it out this weekend and take some more if ya want.

if you are going to seriously consider this bike for your mount, i strongly urge you to reconsider. riding on the street is a whole different world than riding in the dirt. and you have already said this is your first street bike.
i would also mention that you are going to want to take a look at the insurance on your dad's TLS.
liter bikes aren't cheap, and its going to be compounded with the fact that you are only 17. hell, i was paying almost $500 a year for mine and i am married, no tickets, no accidents, and over 25, well over 25....
and, i would recommend visiting the TLPlanet and TLZone; both are probably the leading sources of TL info on the web, and you will see that while the TL is a great bike, its not a starter bike. few liter bikes are.
the fact that its sitting there collecting dust, is a crime in and of itself.
i would still recommend getting something smaller to start with on the street. there are a ton of great entry level bikes out there. get some riding skills under your belt and then pick up dad's tiller.
we'd rather keep you around on 2-wheels for a while, not see ya splattered on the road.

I couldn't agree more!! good advice.
I didnt get my first bike until I moved out of my parents, in fact it was a year after I moved out.
And it wasn't a crotch rocket, it was a sweet bike though for the time (1989), a 1981 KZ 750, I wish I had that bike still its kind of a collectors item now.

After a short ride on the back and talking to all of yall , I decided not to even try and ride that TL , I guess you guys were right  Praise, I just jumped the gun a bit and thought differently.
 I get excited and do that alot sometimes but thats why I also get online and do my homework and talk to those who know better then me , thanks again for all your help guys.

It seems that those big bikes like the TL and gixers ride very different then a normal street bike , they dont turn very well and I guess you have to lean and put pressure on the grips to handle them just right , I dont know but I will start off on a smaller bike , My dad said if im that serious about street bikes , that I can start off on his Ninja  its only a 250 and its easy to handle.

That Ninja 250 will be a great bike to start out on.  Ride it for a season and then move up.  It is light, handles well, and still will have enough pep to be a lot of fun.  Enjoy the h-ll out of it.  If your dad is letting you use it, you can't beat the price either!   :D

Actually, the new Kawasaki Ninja 650R uses a brand new DOHC, 8-valve, parallel twin. This same engine is available in their new dual-sport the Versys. It's a very high tech engine but it's a little down on horsepower from the Suzuki SV/DL 650 motor which is a v-twin. I think that either the 650R or the SV could be the last bike you'll ever own. Excellent power delivery, low weight, fantastic handling and always in the reviews as amazingly capable and even exciting sport bikes.
